HPM Admissions

Factors emphasized in the selection of students include academic achievement and potential, paid or voluntary health-related work experience, letters of support, and promise of professional leadership. Evidence of the ability to successfully complete graduate-level studies is indicated by an applicant's scholastic record, aptitude test scores, and appropriateness of academic preparation.

Professional achievement and promise are evaluated on the basis of an applicant's demonstrated or potential administrative and policy analysis skills, career interest and goals, relevant work experience in the health care of human services fields, initiative and innovative ability, evidence of thoughtful career planning and compatibility of those plans with the graduate curriculum, and commitment to a career in health.

Applicants who are offered admission to HPM average 75 percent on their Verbal GRE scores, 73 percent on their Quantitative GRE and have an average upper-division undergraduate GPA of 3.5.
